Nick created the role of Stephen in workshops
with Patrick Marber that began at the National
Theatre Studio two years before the play was
produced at the Cottesloe. The production won
several awards and transferred to the Vaudeville
Theare in the West End. The production also
toured Britain, opened the Atlanta Cultural
Olympics, and played the Brisbane Festival.
The Take
Sky’s recent venture into serious drama was a
three-part adaptation of one of Martina Coles’
most popular family crime novels. Nick played
Freddie Senior, father to Tom Hardy’s
coruscating criminal-on-the-make. There was a
mortal difference between the two of them over
criminal family morality and blood family
morality.
The Complete Works Season
One of the most exciting years of Nick’s career
was spent in Stratford for the Complete Works
season in 2006. Nick played Capulet in Nancy
Meckler’s Romeo and Juliet, The King of
France in Josie Rourke’s King John and
Leonato in Marianne Elliott’s Much Ado About
Nothing.
